Confirmation is a public affirmation of the faith into which you have been baptised. It is the point in your Christian journey when you lay hold of the truth of the Gospel (good news), for yourselves. As with baptism, confirmation is a serious commitment that shouldn’t be undertaken lightly. Your wholehearted desire to follow Jesus is confirmed by the Bishop through the laying on of hands and prayer. Prayers are also offered by the Church so that, through the work of the Holy Spirit, you might grow to be more like Jesus.

To be confirmed you should be fourteen years of age and over, a member of the Church and undergo a confirmation course.
