This Lent, we’re encouraging the entire church to participate in a daily devotional for 40 consecutive days (excluding Sundays), spanning from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday.
Join us at St Andrew’s Springfield to celebrate our 10th anniversary.
Holy Week is an opportunity to connect with the most important sequence of events in human history. Namely, Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, The Last Supper, Jesus’ arrest, trial and crucifixion, and most importantly His resurrection.
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, the most important week in the church calendar. Our service will begin with a triumphal procession with palm branches, as we welcome Jesus as our King.
On Maundy Thursday we will re-enact the Last Supper that Jesus had with his disciples before he was arrested, put on trial and condemned to death. The service includes a shared ‘Passover’ meal, foot washing and communion.
On Good Friday, we will gather as a church to focus on the immensity of Christ’s sacrifice and the love that drove him to suffer and die on our behalf.
For Christians, Easter Sunday is the biggest celebration of the year, as we proclaim Jesus’ resurrection, his bursting from the tomb. Jesus has defeated death and made it possible for us to receive the gift of forgiveness and everlasting life.
St. Andrew's Church will be going away for camp this year - Saturday 3rd May - Monday 5th May 2025! Church will be held on the campsite on Sunday 4th May.
