Don't miss this amazing community event, which promises to be heaps of fun for the whole family.
Why are we running the Carnival of Light?
All Hallows Eve or Halloween has become synonymous with ghosts, vampires, witches and all things dark, evil and disturbing. Children often go 'trick or treating', which can involve knocking on people's doors and asking for lollies. For a variety of reasons, many parents are not comfortable with these traditions, which, for the most part, have been imported from the US. As Christians, we do not wish to celebrate darkness but light, remembering that Jesus is 'the light of the world.' The Carnival of Light offers a safe and wholesome alternative for those who would rather not engage with Halloween. What is more, it is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together for an evening of fun, friendship and, at times, frenetic activity (at least on the part of the children)! Just show up at the Sports Dome with your children and watch them have fun!
